Kimberly Cecilia Burke is a Research Fellow at the Center for Policing Equity and a former Project Director for the DOJ-Funded National Initiative for Building Community Trust and Justice. She led the creation of the first federal training on interrupting police bias, which has now been used in dozens of departments and has presented her work before the United Nations in Geneva. Her research interests include the intersections officer wellness and community safety, state violence, and inequality. She is currently a doctoral student at UC Berkeley, Department of Sociology.
